With three weeks of school left, our faculty and staff have been busy putting the final touches on the school year. Although we are winding down state testing (woo hoo!), our basketball season, and final projects, we are ramping up student events, finals prep, and senior celebrations …all the way to graduation!
In addition, IVA High just received news from our college accrediting agency (WASC) that our school received six-years of full accreditation! This news came on the heels of a comprehensive self-study, fall WASC visit, and visiting committee report recommending accreditation. This report included the following findings:
IVA provides a variety of personal, social-emotional, and academic support for students to ensure the development of the whole person.
IVA's unique program…leads to authentic relationships between teachers, staff, and families.
IVA leadership and teachers are well-trained and committed to helping students grow.
We are so proud of our school for achieving the highest rating for school accreditation! Despite all this positive news, we cannot ignore the tragedies that have occurred in Texas, Buffalo, Laguna Woods and Milwaukee, and how they are impacting the minds and hearts of our community members. We are deeply saddened by these senseless acts of violence.
We reminded students of the counseling support on campus and made space for them to process and ask questions.
IVA High continues to focus on the mental well-being and safety of our students, and our students continue to find thoughtful ways of contributing to our safe and welcoming community. They are seen, heard, and appreciated.
